I mean Valhalla had a great story but it’s just so fake difficult at least part 3 of fighting tyr like they make you go aginst SIX WHOLe FIGHTS and there’s this timed thing that the longer it takes you to kill the enemy’s the stronger they get and the enemy’s you face are already super strong and tanky so by the time your half way done your gonna be really low on health and rage unless your like one of the best players and because of the timed thing will make the enemy’s like way stronger and that’s not even the worst part you still gotta go through tyr who is a boss fight and already real strong not to mention how you don’t get any health or rage back when you realm travel like in the main game Idk bout anybody else but I’m not some sweaty 1000 hour god of war player I’m a casual player who just wants simple gameplay and story like this is one of the hardest dlcs I ever played like you die once they take your runic abilities buffs and relics away and put you ALLLL the way back to the start so you gotta get all of it back yourself and become as strong as before like why don’t they just make you fight tyr who is already a hard boss you gotta beat instead of making you go through six entire fights that get stronger and stronger the longer it takes to kill them by the time you get to tyr your not gonna have enough health Ike rage to stand a chance any way that’s just a comment on everything I hate about the game.

just a recommendation if your thinking of getting mullet madjack or want something like it. This is the type of video that made me sub to this channel. I think "Halo ruined First Person Shooters" introduced me to it, but then I binge-watched 4 other DOOM: Eternal videos and was like, okay I really enjoy this content, definitely subscribing.

I just finished my first playthrough and I have similar feelings. There's a lot to like about this game, but there are so many points of frustration that happen frequently enough that they drive me to stop playing after 15 - 30 minutes. I played through on the very hard difficulty and by the mall level, I really wished that I could lower it. I had to resort to abusing quicksaves and trial and error far too often for my liking to get through the game.

I like the weakpoint system. But they should offer atleast a zero weak point system in the menus. So it's the same game, but it's easier to play. Just go in shoot and kill. .

0:36 While it is true that you can only kill the Spirit using the Microwave Beam, you don't have to actually kill it at all. Kill everything else and the Spirit will disappear on its own. It's not my personal tactic of choice, but it can be done. One of my favorite complaints about Eternal regards the ammo system and the supposed need to constantly spam the chainsaw. I have personally completed the Main Campaign, albeit on HMP, without ever using the chainsaw. While I have completed the MC, TAG 1, TAG 2, SGN ML, and MC ML all on Nightmare, I used the chainsaw in all my Nightmare runs. Also, thank you, Mayo, for the work that you've done in helping players, such as myself, improve at the game. Your videos have been quite helpful.

The question should be not whether it sucked or not, but why it was there in the first place. Trying to reverse-justify the "forced mario" when you have no option to un-include it from the game - is nothing but cope. And btw, platforming was never a part of Doom games, no need to lie about it. There was no jumping in Doom until Doom 3, and even there - only a very small section of a single level barely did anything with it. Very rarely OG Doom used these limited movement segments - and only as a trap, so that green noobs would try to fight in an artificial no-dodge zone. The bottom line is, that ID probably put two and two together and concluded that those who came to play a first person shooter - to shoot, should be given exactly that.

The more I learn about Doom Eternal and how it plays, the happier I am that my PC won't run it. This looks like something that would just frustrate me instead of engage me. I've been on the fence about getting it on Steam to try it out finally, but this and several other analysis videos about the game's mechanics and gameplay loop are convincing me to get off the fence and not bother. Please don't try to convince me to "give it a try anyway". I won't do it and zealous proselytizing for the game will only turn me off of it even more. I've been burned by that too many times in the past, where online comments convinced me to try a game I was sure I wouldn't enjoy, and I ended up not only hating the game but regretting the money I'd spent on it to begin with. The more I learn about this game, the more I can see this will be the same situation.
